Our team had the privilege of attending CPHI & PMEC China at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre from June 16-18, 2026. Stepping onto the floor, the scale was immediately overwhelming. This is Asia's largest pharmaceutical event, covering an astonishing 240,000+ square meters of exhibition space. With 3,600+ exhibitors and an estimated 110,000+ global attendees, this was more than an exhibition—it was a microcosm of the global pharmaceutical industry.

What Was Actually on Display?

The show was organized into 13 themed zones and 6 special featured areas, covering the entire pharma supply chain. Here's what caught our attention:

• Pharmaceutical Ingredients & APIs: The core of the show, featuring everything from fine chemicals to active ingredients. Exhibitors included major names like Alivus Life Sciences, Almac Group, Octapharma AG, and Polifarma in the expanding International Brands Hall.

• Biotech & Innovative Therapies: A dedicated Biotech Zone was buzzing with advancements in bioengineering and life science instruments, positioned at the forefront of the biopharmaceutical revolution.

• Machinery & Equipment: Over 1,000 suppliers of pharmaceutical machinery and equipment. Companies like Krohne showcased their process measurement technologies—flow meters, level instruments, and pressure transmitters—critical for pharma manufacturing.

• Emerging & Specialized Areas: New zones featured Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Ingredients & Slices, Medical Aesthetic Packaging, and Drug-Device Combinations—trending sectors highlighting where the market is heading.
